Default SCT question...

Ok, since I know there are a LOT of you out there using the SCTs, and I haven't bought one yet...

Can the tuners be used for multiple vehicles?

I'm wanting to buy one (along with an intake) for my car, but my dad is asking me if it can ALSO be used on his F150 truck. Now, I know that you CAN hook an SCT tuner up to his truck; it says so on their website. But, what I HAVEN'T been able to find out is if I can hook up the SCT to my car, and then after I get done doing the tune, hook it up to my dad's truck and do a tune on there...

Trying to save some $$$ and give my dad some better perf on his truck...Anyone know?

No...the FAQ confirms this.

Q: Can your product be used on more than one vehicle?
A: Our products support many vehicles. However, only one vehicle can be tuned at a time. Our programmers vin lock to the vehicle. You can return one vehicle back to stock and then use it on another vehicle.

Also, you can't switch back in forth too often. It only allows you to switch vehicles a certain number of times, then it locks the device out. I think you can clear the lock at home on your PC. It's not a big deal, but it would enough of a pain to keep you from switching back and forth every time you wanted to drive a different car.

At least you could find out how your Dad's vehicle would do with a tune and play around with it some.

Good info, as I was going to offer to tune my buddies F150. Now, forget it.

its not switching tunes, you are limited to like 5 vehicle switches, so you can put it back to stock and then put the canned tunes on another car and then switch again. I think 5 is the most times you can swap cars.
