Time for roll cage!

RE: Time for roll cage!
Buying "kit" cages is not the way to go. Most of the time you still need to tune up the edges inorder for it to fit correctly. I build roll cages/chassis for a living and once in a while someone will buy a kit cage and bring it in for us to put together and weld for them, in the end it wouldn't be much more expensivefor us to have done the whole job itself. I think that when people see a kit cage online they think they are getting a deal and thats all it's going to cost...The only way.....only way... a kit cage will be cheap to do is if you can TIG weld fairly good yourself... or you have a friend at a chassis shop...if you dont then just take your car to a chassis shop and have them do the whole job, you will get better results.

We put the Autopower 6 point in my brothers probe and it fit really good. Our friend owns a mufller shop so we let him do the welding. But a custom fab one would be the best.

RE: Time for roll cage!
thanks for the info guys. not really looking for what is cheapest, just best design and If I found one that I really liked I would consider purchasing it, but I am pretty picky and have a tough time trusting my car to someone else. it is hard to find people that take any pride in there work and having a cage welded in is a one time thing.
