The fact that it just tapes into place kills it for me. To easy for someone to rip it off. Of course I wouldn't want to screw it on either. Oh well thats off my to do list. [sm=badidea.gif]

Get a microchip embedded under your skin and install
a proximity microchip reader to unlock your doors when
you come near enough. Then they will have to cut it out
of your skin to defeat the system. Or maybe a fingerprint
identification reader to activate door unlock.
Or use the remote entry key-fob Ford supplies.
I have a reed switch just inside the glass under the trim
and all I need is a magnet to activate the door unlock.
The magnet resides under the car like a hide a key but
no key.You have to know where the reed switch
is in order to activate it. Never locked out again and
secure enough for me.

I have to agree with you: too easy to rip off. Some people put it by the driver side wipers, on that plastic trim that serves as a cawl. It looks like it's part of that plastic so the occasional @sshole won't think of ripping it off.

I like where mine is, not easy to rip off for sure. But then, you have to have my set-up and there's only one car like that

Agent 47 mirrors my @ss...
Those are 1971 Stang with a custom cancel plate I made in lieu of the originals. A. 47 are not as cool but much better than the stocker ones.
Here's a different shot

Great those are the same mirrors I'm needing for my restorations. Thanks for raising the prices.

I heard of a few people putting the keypads on the bottom of their spoilers that way they are not noticed.

Great idea, and location.

For those of you that are paranoid about someone ripping it off, how about underneath the bumper or something? Like a hide-a-key?

I really like this idea, and probably would get one. The only problem is I would start leaving the key in the ignition and that probably isnt the safest thing to do.

I don't plan to sell this set-up for customers. I could never price itcheap. Too much time consuming to make the cancelling plate where the OEM mirrors were. Then I have to buy a pair of mirror ($220, Virginia Classic) and still customize the plastic part inside where the original switch was.

As far as the key pad, it's got to be a b#tch to try to punch your code when the pad's not exposed to the eyes.[8D]
