Ouch, if permanent marker try some rubbing alcohol. Anything stronger than that would probably rub off the paint. Also, did you reported to the police? This isvandalism.

With solvents, you can always remember, "like dissolves like".

So, something similar should take it off. The question is what will not ruin the finish on the bumper. That I'm not sure of.

Do you know a good body shop guy? If you can ask them, they'd probably be able to point you in the right direction...

Isopropyl Alcohol FTW! sum douche bag did it to me a while back with a black sharpie, huge black line down the entire passenger side.

DO NOT use finger nail polish remover or lacquer thinner. You will ruin the paint permanently. Some clear coat safe polishing compound (KIT makes one they sell in Wally World) should do the trick followed my a good wax.

Let us know how you make out.
Nail polish remover has acetone in it and will destroy the paint....howver Laquer thinner is safe for clear coat paint. I have used it many times with no problems at all...and in fact my 3dCarbon side skirts and bumper came with instructions that said to use laquer thinner on the parts and the car before applying the 3M tape.

Hey guys,

Thanks for the advice. As of right now I have only used bug and tar remover. It worked pretty well, only leaving behind faint red letters. I will try the Isopropyl Alcohol first then move on to some of the other suggestions if that doesn't get it.

The stripes aren't big of a deal because I can replace them easy enough (those I actually need to replace anyways) but its the marks on the paint that kill me.

I just put my GT500 chin spoiler on yesterday too. I guess the pictures for that have to wait now

Man this pisses me off so much just reading this!

Some loser just said, oh I want to be the first to damage this nice car. Jealousy gets to these morons.

Good luck. Hopefully you'll get it all removed. Try a MagicEraser from Mr. Clean, those work magic.. literally.

I'd just remove his nuts with a rusty soup can lid and call it even...
