What do you think the V6 puts to the ground?

 

As I understand it, the hp you quoted is rear whell, at the crank is the 300.

 

The 5.0s were rated anywhere from 215 to 225 and 240 for the Cobra. All 3 of those numbers are higher than the 210 from the V6. At best the new V6 dynos 175 wheel hp which is 90 less than the GT dynos. The new GT is capable of low 13s the new V6 is at best a high 14 second car.

 

The dyno figures (that I'm seeing)for the V8 (at the rear wheel) are about 255-265. I don't think the V8 is worth $6,000.00 additional.

 

With so few choices when you order a Mustang, I am talking about what options you can get on each trim level. You get more than just the engine for the $6K. Don't get me wrong, the 6's are nodoubt a great drive, and a cool car. There are posts on here talking about spending an extra $1200.00 plus, to add fog lights to the 6, etc.

Which ever way you go, you will enjoy the car.

 

i got the v6 and i think it sounds awesome. it is better than any v6 iv ever heard. im not sure why ppl are putting flowmasters and stuff on them since they already sound so good. i cant imagine how much better a new muffler would make it perform or sound? but anyways, i actually felt like i got ripped when i bought my v6 with leather ,premium for 22 and im seeing gt's go for as low as 25. but i cant pay that much for insurance and i love my v6. buy one its aweomse!

 

It's really quite simple. Buy the one that fits your budget and style. Both cars are cool or we wouldn't be here discussing them. I doubt seriously that anyone is going to look down on a V6 coming down the road. The car turns heads and that is one of the most enjoyable things about it. Buy what you can afford and go have a blast!

 

Let me put it to you this way a v-8 is like a Harley and a v-6 is like a honda there is just no comparsion.

 

At least you will have many to choose from and you will not have to wait 16 weeks for a GT. My first Mustang 01 Vert was great. I loved driving that car. Good luck and post some pics when you pick one up.

 

now i wouldn't go that far, the v6 is still an awsome car the v8's just have more horse power. Yes i would take the v8 but the v6 is still an awsome car.. and this is comming from somone that has a v8 so im not being biased and yes i have drove the v6
