Default Custom Interior Time

Hi guys,

Anyone of you thats read many of my posts probably knows that I dislike my Parchment cloth interior. It stains all too easy, and isnt as classy looking as the black. I am planning on switching to leather very soon. However, because there is a beige plastic base and lever on my seats, plain black leather from Newtakeoff.com for example looks all too weird, having the plain black butt up against the beige (seepic 1) - So, I'm going to have custom seat covers made, not the cheapy baggy "glove" type, the good kind. (Let me know if you know of any good places... I was thinking of going with Igee)

So, heres a few mockups for my custom leather. Tell me what you like best. I think that it almost needs a strip of parchment leather to make the base not look so weird. But then again, I'm digging the red. Please reply and tell me the number you like, or any other suggestions.

#1 Plain Black Leather w/ NELS GT Emblem (notice the tan trim I talk about)

Personally, If the choice is red insert, or parchment insert, I like the parchment. But honestly, I don't think the all black take off looks that bad on top of the parchment base. Looks just like the center console to me....i.e. black on top, parchment base.....
I would change the seatbelt retainer strap to black however....

JMO,
Mike

Has anyone on the forum with parchment replaced theirs with takeoffs? I'd be curious to see it. It looks a little crazy to me, but if it did bother me, I was reading about how easy it is to pull out the seats, and I could probably paint the base carefully.

I like number 1 myself with number 3 coming in second!

Let me know how it comes out, planning on changing mine out at some point.

No. 3 was my favorite.

Me and my crazy ideas... I just got the thought about the possibility of being able to spray-dye my current seats black. :-\ Idk. I'll research and give it thought.

It'd have to be done right, or not at all. Thats my policy! Was going to throw out my antenna delete because it had a little tiny indent in the paint, that no one would notice, but I sanded paint and primer off and restarted just to get it right.

Number 3. I don't think you should add a third color, i.e., red to the interior: (1) It will make the interior too busy; and (2) you run the risk of the red interior clashing with your gorgeous torch red exterior. How about making the "Nels GT" lettering red? Great idea to upgrade the interior with real leather seats. I'm sure you'll really enjoy it.

I would go with parchment leather (like the OE leather pattern) but go with bright red piping throughout. That would look classy and awesome. (just a light accent of red, not too crazy)
