Default Saleen S/C - What's normal?

1. Tell me if this is my imagination: Give the car a good dose of part throttle, S/C whistles louder, car feels like it pulls harder than when it was N/A, Saleen boost gauge reads 'zero'.

2. What does it take for the bypass to close? I assume it is vacuum controlled given how it is connected but what specific vacuum conditions need to be present to trigger it?

Thanks!

With a 3.4" pully you should be 10 lbs of boost correct? If so it should be a violent pull vs. stock. Does the Saleen gauge show a vacume when the car idles?

I asked my question badly. Yes, when I punch it, the boost guage flips almost instantly to 10+ and the tires go up in smoke

It's 'spirited part throttle' I have the question about.

It takes 0 vacuum for the bypass to close, the thing is always making boost. The reason it feels like it pulls harder than when it was NA is because it does. Think of the supercharger as the best high flow air filter you can buy, much better than any CAI available.

So color me stupid then. What does the bypass do? It only opens when you let off?

If the thing is always making boost, why does my boost guage never move until I floor it (or blip it really hard at idle)?

ok, one thing to remember is that when
your driving along your in vacuum. it's
only when you press the go pedal down
does the pressure rise.

this is kinda why i like having a vacuum/boost
gauge, cause you see it in all of it's movement

Ok, that makes sense: The throttle opens, the vacuum drops, the bypass closes, you get boost.

Do you guys only get boost (as registered on your boost guage) at WOT?

If I push lightly I get 2-5;bs...WOT...8lbs...otherwise stay in vac at idle 22 to 0 when starting out slowly....instant boost when you need it...isnt that great
