RE: Trade In Value of an '06 GT???
+1 on selling privately... not even comparable to the differance that you get... you can get like 5k more then the dealer will give. I say wait until you can sell it <- JMO

I say try to sell it privatly first, if you have the time to do it, you'll always get more for it that way.
otherwise around 20,000 ish, should sell for around 25,000ish

RE: Trade In Value of an '06 GT???
here is what i would suggest.
ask the dealership if you can put some money down on it to hold it. my dealership did that for me when i was trying to sell my previous car privately. i gave them a $1k check (which they only held until purchase) and they put it in the back lot with a sold sign.
i ended up trading my car in anyway but at least i was able to try to sell it. (had some interested parties but they fell through).
and check kbb.com. i was told by my dealership that they never give the "excellent" condition price though, only good...
*edit*
i see you did try and sell your car for a week on autotrader. i would also suggest taking your car to a carmax.com and see what they will give you for it. they gave me a better purcahse price then my dealer did trade-in price... but with the money i was saving in taxes with the trade-in, and the less hassle, i just traded it in.

Thanks guys, for the input! I can't sell privately, I want to act on this one car in dealer stock,(black GT Deluxe, 17" bright Bullitts, spoiler delete, 5 spd manual w/ a Shaker 500) and also Ford has a $1,000 rebate deal only good until 10-31-07, I want to take advantage of it! Also, with the car being a GT Deluxe,($27.717) and with the rebate,(-$1,000) the price is right, otherwise I would not be even thinking of doing this! BTW, I tried selling my car privately , and for one week, did not get one inquiry! (Ad was on autotrader).

I don't get why you would throw money away? You have a nice GT already. Take the money you would be throwing out the window (losing on trading in or selling it + another year worth of payments) and mod it.
Or better yet, start leasing your cars. You lose less money if you're going to be getting a new car every year or two because you only pay for depreciation.
You're also forgetting there's Tax, license, document fees, and registration fees on a NEW car. So tack on another $2K for that on your new car.

Don't know where your located but if there's a Carmax anywhere near you I would check with them. I tried trading my 06 GT (5spd, premium, 18" bullits, 9700 miles) into the dealer but they of course didn't want to give me very much. I took it to Carmax andthey gave me quite a bit more. Best of all is they will buy it with out you buying something from them (Oh god, I sound like the tv commericals). Might be a bad time of year thou, coming up on winter and all. Just a thought!!!

RE: Trade In Value of an '06 GT???
I have noticed a few guys trade in 05,06 cars for 07,08...not sure why..
There arent any significant upgrades, sie...Motor..HP...some cosmetic that can easily be done by our selves..
Just seems like there is to much money to lose..

RE: Trade In Value of an '06 GT???
I have the car in my sig, bought it new 5 months ago and it has 3,100 miles on it.
I go to the dealer this afternoon to see what the numbers will look like on trading in the 07 and ordering an 08.
The reason I am doing this is because I want a Torch Red w/Crimson red interior and an automatic.
I have very specific optionsthat Iwant and they can't find in a car so they have to order an 08 for me.
I will only do this if the numbers look "good", I expect to lose some money but how muchI dont know.
Anyone have an idea how much they will give me for my 07,it's sticker was 31k, i think I paid 28k for it.

Are you on glue? How could it sell for $25ish if you can buy a brand new one for $25ish?
