How is the transmission on these mustangs? Im considering either a Mustang or GTO and i am looking into things before i buy the car. The GTO has a crappy gearbox and the ATX is a a tenth of a second faster in 0-60 and in the 1/4 mile. How close is it with the mustangs? would it be a noticible difference? the car will be a daily driver for the next 4-6 years so i need to make the right choice.

I suggest going to the dealer and driving both to see which one you like better.

are the atx just as fast as the mtx?

Either one is going to be reliable, unless you mod the hell out of it. Question probably ought to be "Do I want to shift it myself all the time?" The auto is very fast at shifting. Takes a bit to get used to how quick it is. Only reason I have an auto is so wifey can drive it too. So drive them and find out.

 

I wont mod it too much... Just wasnt sure if the mtx was a better. Ill prob get the atx so i dont have to worry about the clutch and stuff
