If your using a top tier fuel you should not have and excessive carbon buildup with the motor. How many miles do you have on the car? You can do a drip setup through the brake booster line but you would be required to buy the special tool that allows the Seafoam to be drawn in very very slowly while the engine is running. You may be better off taking it to Ford and asking them if they have that type of setup and let them use the chemicals they use for this.

I had the same problem on a stock tune.
My car would actually knock when every you stomp on the gas hard.

I complained to the dealer.
They referred me to the manual where it actually states its NORMAL to hear pinging or knocking under sudden hard acceleration.
Running 94 octane would cure the problem, but 94 octane + stock tune = waste of money.
I requested they bump up the timing, dealer said not a chance.

An aftermarket tune from B chips or Brenspeed would help you.
Now, an 87 tune from B chips has eliminated all knocking and pinging from my motor.

I've been looking at threads on different forums about seafoam, and it seems to be used a lot on high mileage cars. At what age(mileage) on you car would you guys start using it?

I know guys that have used Seafoam, use it in a wide open area, or you will **** off your neighbors by literally smoking them out, it makes a ton of smoke!...at least you won't have any mosquito problems!

I might try this tomorrow.... Perhaps smallsyringeinjections of it into the brake boost line, rather than sucking it up, will be better since a lot of air will still make it in that way.

Anyways should be interesting.

Seafoam.....i saw this and it convinced me...
Wow cool[8D] That's my thread I still use the stuff prior to every oil change in my 05 GT (now with just over 40K on it) and my wife's Escape (now with 113K on it). I put 1/2 a can into the intake, and the other 1/2 can in the gas tank. I do the intake after the engine is hot, and before changing the oil.

wait wait wait MTS... You say you put it into the intake, like directly? Or do you mean the brake boost line? Please be specific for us idiots who might try it. Or will try it. Like... this weekend.

Oh yeah, which seafoam to get? Deep creep or motor treatment?

Sorry - yep the brake boost line is correct! I didn't know there were different flavors of Seafoam. My parts stores only have one kind - I think it's the Motor Treatment - never heard of the Deep Creep.
