Actually, on further inspection, the white balance isn't really bad. The image is just dark.

I finally built a lightbox tonight. I've been meaning to do it forever. Here's a few captures I got.
Nice! If you have a silver reflector it would work really well on the ceiling of your whitebox. That will bounce all the light back down on your subject and help to light it from the top as well as from the sides with your light sources...it will make your subjects appear more evenly light from all angles.

That is, even out the light across your mustang models (trying to make this somehow topic-related )

I had a go this evening with an interior shot. It's not as easy as it seems LOL
I think you did a great job! Did you run this through HDR? I couldn't get a decent shot to show well of the interior without the gauges blowing out. Your nav system shows really well here too!

Nice.
Well, my 1D doesn't even have an Auto mode so that's not an issue LOL

That interior image was shot at F18 to keep the DOF deep enough, the speed was around the 30 sec mark +/- the exposure bracketing. There was some ambient Orangelight coming in the garage window from the setting sun which may have been affecting the White Balance, I'll give it a go with total surrounding darkness......
I agree with your later assessment...the white balance I think looks good! Did you use a tripod at all? 30 sec ss is just at the edge of where I can't hand-hold to keep it still enough. I think the setting sun actually was a help to you because I shot mine in total darkness and I couldn't get above F4 or 5.6 even with the ISO at 1250 to keepthe ss above 30. I needed a bit more light to get the DOF that you did.

1Ds here....Canon's rock

DarkFireGT,

If you were not in IL, we would ask you to join us for SEMA, the largest automotive industry car show not open to the public. and compensate your entrance as well as lodging. Very Nice Work!!

Yeah, I seen your post several weeks back looking for a photographer. My fiance and I were planning on being in Vegas that week, and trying to get into Sema, but we lost our daughter this spring, and I used up all of my vacation. We're definitely interested for next year if the offer would stand.

Here you go. But be careful. It's very easy to ruin an image with HDR. People try so hard to make it look like things were done to it, that they blow out all the details.
