radar detector question
Not really good for the money, just leave it on the windshield and put it into your glove box when you get out.
You would have to rig it to your battery or alternator I think. Not sure if if would still be hot when the car is off...

Uh. it will stay on the windshield.. how else would i hear it lol. im talking running a wire to the fuse box i have a tapafuse thing.. think that i could put it to the radio fuse or windshield wiper fuse so that it only turns on when car turns on?
I have a Valentine 1 and it has a harness that allows you to hardwire it so you don't have to use the cig adapter. I think it wires into the inside lights. Anyway i'm sure if yours doesn't have a special harness for it you could rig it somehow. Anything can be done.
This is will take some work (based on where you mount it)-- BUT you can always wire it to the back of your lighter adapter in your center console... you'll have to run all the wire thew the head liner, down the apillar, under the carpet, then to the console... you can mount it to your dome light or if you wanna play & experiment a little you can mount it in there based in it's size...[8D] It won't remote start when you turn your stang on but it'll be a clean install with no wires hanging out or anything... all you have to do is hit the on button on the radar and wahlaa...

Dude, go to WallyWorld or any car parts place, and get yourselfa 12V power tester. They're cheap. Plug that little sumbich in some fuses and manipulate the ignition key until you find one that lights the tester when you want it to and turns off when you want it to. (Or, look in the fuse box, and just go with one that says "ACC." or Radio).
There are a bunch of adapters available to add a wire to an existing fuse/wire, so find a good one. Don't use some crap, it'll haunt you later. The good ones are inexpensive.
Go ahead and hack off the adapter on the end of your power cord (or buy a replacement if you don't have a straight one), and fish out the two wires. Test them before you attach them to make sure you have the polarity right, and then fix one to the fuse box, and screw the other to some metal. There's probably already some wires grounded in there, so you may be able to piggyback that also (but a separate ground is recommended). Hide your wire and you're done.
And you can still disconnect the detector from the wire for easy removal if you wish, because the connection at the unit doesn't change.
Too easy man, too easy.

Alright, I went with the assumption that you were going to mount it lower on your windshield, since that is where mine is (recommended by Mfg.).
If you want it mounted higher, the process is the same. All you have to do is run the wire across the top of the windshield and down the pillar to the fuse box. Not difficult. On my last car, I was able to just tuck the wire in the headliner above the windshield by hand, and then all I had to do was pull up the pillar a bit to get it in behind there.
The wire is pretty small, so you may be able to do that too. I'm not sure how much room there is with the Mustangs. Either way, it shouldn't be too bad.
OR, do what I did and get yourself a wireless one!

I have mine running down my passenger A-Pillar and down into the passenger-kick fuse box. Turns on when I start the car, and shuts off when I open the door. I love it.

how hard is it to run behind the dash. can you fish it straight down pretty easy? i have my neons tapped into my center console (w/ a switch of course), and they are in my footwells. if i can just get behind my dash i have my power source. i hate being plugged into dash outlet.
