Default taking the stang on a road trip....

my grandfather passed away this week, and i am going to take my car on its first field trip.....do you guys do any weird pre-trip checks before you go on your trips....aside from the obvious, like engine oil, air filter....anything else you suggest?

Just fluid level checks, and I generally air up the tires to 37 psi. We are 3 big people and max out the rec. weight with people and gear. Less rolling resistance.

I took mine on a road trip from Jersey to Georgia last January...I just checked tire pressure and went on my way.

She did good! plus the 36 mpg I got!

I typically drive about 2,000 - 2,500 miles/month, mostly long distance (anywhere from 800 miles to 1,600 miles per roundtrip) and other than checking my oil level and tire pressure rather frequently, just hop in and drive!

Sorry to hear about your Grandfather....just do the regular checks and enjoy the ride. This will be a great way to break in the engine (if it isn't allready broken in).
