I use Mobil 1 5w-20 with a Motorcraft filter which I change every 5K miles.

How many miles are on your car?

5W-20, 6 quarts. Buy 1 extra to be safe. Although our Stangs come from the factory with Ford's synthetic blend, a lot of members including myself have gone to full synthetic. I prefer Amsoil which is expensive but Mobil-1 is an excellent choice (I use it in my SUV) and readily available at your local Wal-Mart. Be sure to replace the oil filter with a quality filter. The Motorcraft filter is a good choice and isalso available at Wal-Mart.
Is the oil at Wal-Mart and filters the regular stuff you buy at other stores or defective merchandise (or Chinese rip-offs) that Wal-Mart buys up and sells for cheap. I’m not sure I trust them. I don’t want lead chips in my oil or filter.

...i dont mind these threads that much, the forum would be dead without them... its the, whats the BEST kind of oil, what is better, Mobil 1, or a real synthetic like RP or redline, etc etc that can get out of hand.

5w-20, brand is personal choice, from factory it comes with a semi-synthetic blend (motorcraft brand) the motorcraft filter is good, personally i use redline.

157db made that claim a while back but I have yet to see any proof one way or the other.
