I was walking off campus from the University where I work during my lunch hour. Parked on Salem St. was this beautiful white 2005 Mustang GT. I stopped in my tracks. It was a blast from the past. A young woman also stopped and we both admired the new generation Mustang.

My wife and I waited until the comfort package was available with the power passenger seat and then ordered a 2007 Redfire Mustang GT convertible.

I remember seeing pics of the 2004/5 Mustang Concept car and knew at some point I had to have one. The good thing about the S197 is that it FORCED me into doing a ground up restomod on my '65, since the S197 looked so much like my '65. Here's the pic that go me going again on Mustangs:

I had seen camo'd S197 Mustangs driving around detroit for months before they were released.

It was on a trip to Washington, DC in early december 2004 with my debate team (loads of fun btw), we were crossing next to an extremely well lit closed off interesection with alot of cops. At first it looked like some huge accident with all the flashing lights, but then I saw a silver GT sitting right in the middle of the intersection with all the spotlights on it, and it looked absolutely gorgeous. Had my face plastered to the window until I couldn't see it anymore. I think it was a photoshoot, but I haven't seen any pictures that match my discription.

+1! i remember seeing covered up stangs driving around before they were released. man i miss living in MI haha.

I fell in love when it was still a concept. I've always wanted an old muscle car but with the modern comforts. When i saw this car I knew it was the answer.

Not sure when I really noticed, but I remember liking the new look. Now for the
hard part....my wife and I had our eye on the new 300C for about a year. That was
until we drove one. Sure they drive nice but we were not impressed with the hemi at all.
One thing we wanted for sure was something fast. So, the 300C was out...now we had to
re-think what we wanted. So, we're looking online at 350Z, G35 and mustangs. Turns out
that same week my wife had to run an errand for her boss. She tells him the company car
is already out, so he throws her his keys. Turns out to be an 07 GT. She drives it and as soon
as she gets back, she calls me and says "we're getting a stang...I just drove (Steve's) and OMG
your gonna love it!!". On the way home that day we stopped at a dealer and test drove a used
05 GT and a 05 350Z. We loved the GT. Started searching in Yahoo autos and found our 07 GT
used w/6800 miles for 22,800 Went down, test drove, bought.
