GT 500 Front Facsia....HELP....
Has anyone done a front kit on a silver Gt yet....looking for pics and some help........body shop said that they don't want to paint the bumper ahead of time ,because silver might not match up like black or any other color...so they need the car for more than 1 day...maybe a day and a bit ..See i'm going to a Mich. Ford dealer to get this put on..and i am buying the kit from them too...i'm from Canada...the total price to paint and install and parts is $2,000.00....not including hood...the price here is sickening...almost $4,000.00.installed and painted..any help would be great......plus if anyone lives in the michigan area let me know..its a Port Huron Dealer ..Northgate Ford...thanks Paul

I purchased my front fascia from Royal Oak Ford (Royal Oak, MI), and total for parts was $1,400, and another $300 for paint.
The installation does not need to be done by the dealer. Granted, you'll need a drill, rivet gun, and basic hand tools, but that shouldn't deter you from doing the installation yourself. Someone put together a do-it-yourself out there that guides you step by step.
There has always been a discrepancy between dealers regarding pricing for parts.

I did not want to leave my car at the shop while they were just painting it and besides, I was going to install myself anyways. We ended up doing 2 cars, so what e did is take the gas cap door off, 2 bolts and left that there for color matching. Proved to be worthehile especially on the yellow, not so much the black. Below is the parts list for everything you'll need to do the conversion. Fax the list to a couple Detroit dealers, and take the best price.

Any body shop can paint the bumper, so what's your inspiration for having the Port Huron Ford dealer do it?
