Default Dumb question

When you use a tuner for the first time, do you just plug it in to the ODB2 connector and push buttons to install a tune, or do you have to do something else first, like replace chips or something?

Just plug it with the key off and the tuner will walk you through the setup.

Cool. Thanks. I'm about to pull the trigger on a CAI and tune. Probably the Saleen and XCalibrator II from Brenspeed.

Just installed my Steeda and Brenspeed tune last night. Took me about 60 minutes to install the CAI (I goofed around and agonized over little crap) and about 3 minutes to install the tune, then about another hour trying to keep the wheels from spinning and the backend from wanting to break loose!

Plug the XCAL2 into the port and follow the onscreen instructions. It'll power up as soon as you plug it in. Just have your key ready for the prompt. About 1 1/2 minutes to upload the stock tune and 30 seconds to download the new tune. You'll love it.
