Carbon fiber hood

RE: Carbon fiber hood
Raw carbon fiber is not going to look very good with a lighter color car. On black or alloycolors it looks ok. I have an alloy with carbon fiber hood and you really can't even tell that it's carbon fiber unless you look really hard. From most angles it looks dark gray.
However, carbon fiber is the lightest, strongest material youcan use on your car. I'll never tell someone not to do it (unlike most folks on this forum). There appears to be an"anti" carbon fiber following amongstsome of theold school mustang followers. Heck, I just use whatever works best. And carbon fiber IS the best. I'll forward some pics of mine if you want.

I like to see it on a dark car with a Shaker or the Super Snake design.
I agree with above, too much contrast with a lighter color, unless you go two tone or something of that nature.

RE: Carbon fiber hood
I have a silver car and was thinking of painting the hood black. BTW I have black 5 spoke wheels which look awesome and a black interior, the contrast looks good as long as it not overdone IMO. I'm planning to do the plastic (black) piece between the tail lights and black front Chin Spoiler. Will do black stripes if I don't do the hood. Carbon fiber hood hmmmm.... where did I leave my check book? I would love to see a picture of someone who has done this.

Yeah it doesn't look as bad as I thought it would. I've seen carbon fiber hoods on blue and bright red cars and haven't been impressed. Heck, you can always paint it.
The thing with carbon fiber is it looks extremely different depending on the way the light hits it. Sometimes it can look really yellow tinted. From some angles it will look good, some angles not so good. You can't really tell from that pic which is about a 40degree. Have them take a straight on pic of the hood on that car in the sunlight. Again, I probably wouldn't put it on my car unless I have dark color.
It can always be painted and that was my first decision when I purchased my hood (Seibon SS style). I really just wanted the heat ducting (and it really works btw) but wanted to paint it. Allmy buddiesthought that if I paid that much money for carbon fiber, why paint it? I agreed and fortunately it looks pretty good with my color scheme.
