Default Premium wheels center cap problem

Has anyone with the 5-spoke premuim wheels noticed that the center caps tend to fade and/or crystalize? I have a 2005 GT with the premuim wheels. Two of my center caps haveall of the sudden gotten that crystalized look. And the other two are just starting. I don't clean them with anything other than standard car suds. Would this be covered under warranty? Thanks for any advice.

Looks like that center piece is made of a different alloy. Cleaning it with car suds shouldn't affect it. Definitely take it back to the dealer if it's still under warranty.

Call your dealer and ask. If you still have factory warranty then they should change it out. I am assuming your actual wheel is in good shape. If not, I cant imagine 4 caps should cost too much, worst case scenario. Always try your warranty and dont let up.

Looks like the guy rotating your wheels might be blind!

It would probably help to have a layer of wax over the rims but unless you have been parking in extreme environments that might be a flaw in the rim.

I only have 14,000 miles on the car. The center caps are just plastic. They cost $30 a piece from Ford. May end up getting some more unless I end up getting new/better rims. I'll check with the local dealer. There is only one here in Seoul, Korea that deals with warranty issues. Thanks for the advice.
