Ha ha! I was thinking the same thing.

I had a '67 GTA for about 6 years.

What does or did the "A" signify back in 1967? Did it mean the GT had a 390 in it or something similar?
The "A" in '67 stood for Automatic...

There were GT's and GTA's. I have an automatic...so I aint no poser!!!

If my memory serves me well... The GTA badge meant Auto and only with the 390 engine.

BTW, shrewd idea, those badges. +1

Actually, you could get a GTA with any V8. Mine was a 289 A code (4 barrel, 225 HP).

Thanks for correcting me then... Appreciated that.
I thought there was something else going on with the GTA deal.
Oh well, I have enoughdocumentation to relearn all this, if I needed to.[8D]

Hey, no prob. I spent a lot of time researching all that stuff back in the 90's. You know how some guys "think about baseball" during those "special moments"? For me it was stuff like Boss 429 production numbers! [sm=roll.gif]

BTW - Fairlane GTs with auto had the GTA designation in both '66 and '67.

That's because yours was a HP set up. My 1967 289 2-V didn't have one and it was a C4 Auto.
