That's because yours was a HP set up. My 1967 289 2-V didn't have one and it was a C4 Auto.

The "A" in '67 stood for Automatic...
There were GT's and GTA's. I have an automatic...so I aint no poser!!!

What does or did the "A" signify back in 1967? Did it mean the GT had a 390 in it or something similar?

I retract my statement, according to Brad Barret, the GTA in '67 did indeed indicated that it was a '67 GT with an automatic. Interesting
OK, I admit in advance that I was not even BORN in '67, but I thought that GTA stood for "Gran Turismo Alleggerita" or "lightened GT car". At least that is what wikipedia says when I looked it up [8D].

I remember seeing your ride a couple of months ago...and I absolutely love it!
I had my choice down to the GTA badge and the '66 red GT (the one with the black inlay...I think you have the '65?)
I ended up choosing the GTA badge for3 reasons, first, the emblem, while from '67, still looks very modern and retro both at the same time...two cause I have an auto, andthree because your emblems I thought were kinda small....as per the websites, it was only about 2 inches tall....I wanted something a little more substantial...lol...then I get slapped with the emblem not covering the holes!
Of course, looking at it on YOUR car, it looks perfect!

I think the GTA emblems look great. The high performance emblems look a little too crowded for my tastes, I think I would remove them and maybe put one on the grill and the other on the decklid.
You GT guys have it made, you all have all sorts of emblems you can go with, but us 4.0 peeps have nothing that great to choose from. I must have about 6 sets of emblems here that i've tried in various configurations to make something that looks good together, and yet have an aire of originality to it. Pretty soon you guys are gonna be calling me a poser, because I finally said fk'it and ordered me what i've always wanted - Shelby GT350 badges.
