Default An introduction and a quick background

Hey everyone, I am brand spanking new to these forums so I thought I'd drop you a line and introduce myself.

I grew up with a pretty hard Mustang craze as a kid and dreamt wild fantasies of the day I'd be motoring down the road in my own Pony. Not sure what attracted to me the Pony originally but I remember Mustangs as being the hot sweetness. My Mustang fanaticism kind of died, ok, literally died, when the Pony underwent the '94 re-design, for my tastes, it was a turn in the wrong direction. I thought they were hideous. Ironically, that is the same point in my life when I started earning a decent income and making my way enough to where I could entertain the notion of having a kickass car/toy, only to see the only car I wanted become FUBAR.

Anyway, fast-forward to last fall and I spied an article on the new '05 Mustang. Up until seeing the new Pony, I had all but dismissed my Mustang crazed youth as just that, a part of me that had long since passed into my own life's history. Surprisingly, that wasn't the case. Whatever fascination I thought had died in me was merely hibernating and the new Pony woke it up with a vengeance.

I got word to a buddy in Lithia's management ranks and after him dealing with several dealers, within his own company, sticking to MSRP (In some cases MSRP+bump), he found someone who would work with me. I'm happy to report that as of today, my new Mustang is officially "On Order". I am stoked with the red-hot passion of a thousand suns! LOL

I opted for the GT Premium, satin silver/dark charcoal with the Interior Upgrade. Since I've been out of the loop on Mustangs & mods over the past decade, I am going to be watching these boards and doing as much mod research as I can. For starters I'll be doing the basics, limo tint, K&N filter, possibly new wheels (If I wind up not liking the standard ones) and a new exhaust. After that I am going to be taking the time to research everything else like performance chips, super chargers, cams, gears, brakes, etc. and I'll likely bounce any ideas onto these boards for some feedback. I have much to learn.

Welcome to the forums. I hope you enjoy the site, and your new 05 GT as much as I am. At almost 900 miles, with snow on the ground again today, I really want to drive her.

Come on spring/summer !!

Enjoy !!
