The "off road" pipe eliminates the Cat's. The reason I went with the FRPP X-Pipe is that it keeps the Cat's in their original position, no emissions problem when inspection time comes around.
It's "illegal" here in Florida. But we dont have inspection. I guess a cop would be able to bend down and take a peak, not see them, then ticket me.
Btw i would not buy pypes. In some cases the fitment quality is TERRIBLE. Before I got my headers i had an o/r x pipe from them and the bung was welded in the wrong place, I had to close that one and re-weld another. I know a few others that had issues as well.

well i didnt realize it was ILLEGAL, just thought it was "bad for the environment" hence the inspection crap.
maybe ill go with frpp....im up for a couple swaps but not EVERY year...id rather toss/sell the stock midpipe

WHile they do sound bad ***, they are illegal because of no convertors--which is what makes em loud. If you have emissions testing, forget about passing. If its visual, you have a good chance, because most inspectors don't look/care that much(I dont for the most part).
Every aftermarket pipe for these cars with cats sounds no different than the stock unit IMO, and is a waste of money if you ask me, as really they gain no power.
