As far as your mod list, get the car 1st. Then in this order for performance
1)tune
2)cai...cold air intake
3)gears, I like 4.10's
This moding the S197 101....

$25,000 seems to be a little on the high side for a 23k machine no? What is the availability of Mustangs in the area? Might pay to look further afield come the time

Might be better to concentrate on just driving it and becoming accustomed to it before you start dropping coin on stuff you probably won't need.

RE: Newbie..chevy guy thinking about getting a mustang...questions??
Well that is what they wanted for thier 2006, i'm not buying it, that is just what was there to test drive, he was just pushing me to buy it. But 25 did seem high, but i think with some dealing i could get it for about 23. I noticethe 2005 mustang GT's with about18,000miles seem to be going for around 20 right now. So hopefully when i buy one in the spring, i'll find one for 18 with low miles.

The car salesmen is a retard. The 05 and 06 are exactly the same, the 07 and 08's are the heavier "slower" ones stock.
The 05's had a more conservative tune than the 06's but not enough to make a noticable difference.

Yes, i'm not really looking into droping a bunch of money into making it go faster, i think this car will be fast enough for me as i'm used to just driving out chevy pickup. I just want it to sound a bit louder, and look a bit different from other GT's driving around. So i'm thinking a front spolier, stripes and hood scoop should do that trick. I can't spend to much more then that because i'm and going to helicoptor school, which is about $85,000 !!!! Yah i know, nuts, but i'm not working at Mcdonalds my enitre life.

Friend of mine is a chopper instructor here in Orlando...
There is a shortage of pilots in the Country, so you're in a good groove.
After the Nam vets are retired from flying those for TV news, they'll need new blood like you.
Just imagine how bad of a Stang you'll be able to afford then...

I'm already looking forward to it. THere is a very big shortage of pilots up here in Canada. The course is in Calgary, 25 hours away from home, so i have a good excuse for buying this car, and i have to look good when pulling up to a million dollar helicopter
Do any of you guys have any experience with SLP axel-back exhaust? Would not running the 2 back mufflers be bad for the engine as there is less backpressure. Thanks
