Default Newbie..chevy guy thinking about getting a mustang...questions??

Hey guys

Well i'm starting to look at getting my first car, i have always been a chevy guy, but the new mustangs are very nice. I test drove an 06 GTthe other day, and i really liked them. But due to my bank account i'm gonna have to look around for a 2005 mustang GT, so i can't afford a newer one. I just had a couple questions, the dealer told me that the 2005 was slower then the 2006, is that true? Is there any differences between the 2005 and 2006, besides wheels options and colors? Any difference in the interior? Any recalls? I'm looking at getting a white GT coupe, tint the windows, black stripes, hood scoop, CDC chin spoiler, and SLP loudmouth exhaust, i can't wait!! Thanks for everything guys.

As far as I know, I believe the 05s are lighter than the 06 +. But the same RWHP.
I believe I read that on here. Could be wrong.
Just my 2 cents.
And white is a sweet color man

i think the difference starts with the 07. What was the asking price on the 06?

The car salesmen is a retard. The 05 and 06 are exactly the same, the 07 and 08's are the heavier "slower" ones stock.

The 05's had a more conservative tune than the 06's but not enough to make a noticable difference.

what would that be in US? I got a new 07 with all the goodies for 26600 last september. Either year you get they are good cars, easy to mod and you can get them up there in rwhp. Good luck and have fun

I have to give credit when and where it's due.

+1 for you my friend, to check out a forum about the car you're interested in. It's a sure way to learn about the pros and cons of such a car.
Pay attention to people with a 1000+ posts... They're more likely to knowa lotabout that car.

And yes, that salesman in an idiot... Doesn't even know the product he's trying to sell.

What ever move you make, the S197 is the best one made quality wise.
So good luck.

Thanks guys, your probably going to see alot of topics made by me lol. This is going to be my first car (I'm just turning 20, need it to go to helicopter school in Calgary)and i'm going to buy it once the snow melts off the highways next spring, so sometime in March. Going to do as much researching as i can. Thanks guys, i can already tell this is a great site!!

I personally didn't believe the saleman, he was just trying really hard to sell me that 2006 Mustang, i felt really pushed into it, but it didn't work on me.
