Mikev....no problem if you don't want an '05. There are about 150,000 other people this year who disgaree with you that DO like it and will buy it.

Fact is, Ford has a back log of about 65,000 orders that they are trying to catch up on right now.

Just an interesting note....I was at a Ford dealer this weekend that had 3 leftover Cobras sitting in front of the dealership. Next to those was 1 screaming yellow '05 GT that was a "program car" with 1,000 miles on it. Guess which car the people were crowded around? It wasn't the Cobras.

Don't get me wrong. I like the Cobras and have a healthy respect for them. But, the '05 Mustangs have struck a chord with the vast majority of the Mustang faithful.

If you don't like them, no sweat. Please don't denigrate those of us who do like them and have plunked down our hard earned cash for them, though.

i don't bash the 05s. only thing negative i say about the car itself is i don't like the body style. i have a problem with the owners. did i say all 05 owners are ******? newp! looks to me like the 05 owners are more sensative. i display my opinions and i'm jealous and have envy and being sensative. you guys are just proving my point. only reason i'm bothering replying all the time is because i have entirely too much free time at work. HEY LOOK! A SHEET OF PAPER!

I HAVE MADE A SMALL FORTUNE IN THE CAR INDUSRTY FOR YEARS TAKE MY ADVICE BY ONE COVER IT UP IN A GARAGE AND WAIT 25 YEARS AND SEE WHAT HAPPENS. HOLY CAPS LOCK BATMAN! you should probably add more than just commas in there. that was very hard to read. bragging about your owned cars means nothing. my mom owns an 02 vette she paid cash for, my stepdad owns a z4 and had a BMW 328i. so anyway, i go to my hair stylist who works at a styling place. they charge $25 for haircuts. if you were to go with me at the same time and got your hair cut by her, you'd get charged $25 while i got charged $20. i don't care about your "CONNECTIONS". so since you said the 05 is the hottest thing, does that mean everybody's opinion doesn't matter? nobody can have a bad opinion on a car they don't like? i thought that's what made us human. guess i was wrong.

Reading down further though you agree that someone is a "*****" for trying to defend their car. nobody was called a ***** for defending. somebody was called a ***** for saying "sounds like somebody wants one" from shifty. the whole envy thing or whatever cause we don't own one and our opinion of it isn't a good one. oh well. you like your 05 i like my 04. just don't say we're jealous cause we don't have one and don't like it much.

roboha....good luck with putting the '05 Mustang in the garage covered for the next 25 years. There's going to be 150,000+ of them built this year. Based on that alone, I doubt there's going to be much in the way of "collectability" in them. Personally, I think you and your money would be better served by putting that money in a mutual fund for the next 25 years. You're return is likely to be much better.

But, if you're 51 years old now, in 25 years you'll be 76. At 76, I'd think you'd be happier with yet another interation of a Grand Marquis sitting in your garage.
