Automatic shifting noise...
I just got back from a 400 mile round trip and parked the car for the night. The next morning I went to work and the shift from first to second was really hard almost as if a universal joint was going bad. It happened a few more times then seemed to subside. Is this another one of our computer tricks where it is trying to re-adjust things because of the long trip or do you thing i may have a problem? I am off to work now and will see if the noise is still there. The noise i hear is like a clunking sound, only when it shifts from first to second! The noise seems to be coming from between the dirvers seat and the rear of the car!

RE: Automatic shifting noise...
Hmmm, I have experienced (in other vehicles) something like this. It's something to do with the elevated heat in the box from the previous long ride, the oil becomes much thinner than normaland settles much more fully before it cools, draining the box more fully. You'd think it wouldn't do that but, hey, it happens.
Ibet the next time you cold start, assuming you don't drive it for miles & miles before switch off,it's fine.

Ever since I got my Bama tune, I hear a noise that sounds like my tires barking every time my auto shifts!
No, seriously, if you had a long cruise on the highway, your shifts will be a little off when you go back to stop and go driving. It's the auto-adaptive feature getting used to the change in your driving pattern. And there is some slop in the drivetrain, so you'll hear a clunk on firm shifts. Nothing to worry about.
