Rear axle question
Ok so I have my 07 GT in the shop and they replace a from ball joint as they think it is too loose. Anyway when they get it up on the alignment rack to align it and they tell me that my car's rear axle is out of line. The said the driver's side is at 0 and the passenger side has a .25 toe.In other wordsit's slightly pigeon toed on the pass side and on that side only.I know that the thrust angles on a solid rear axle car are hardly ever perfect but is this too much? And why on one side and not the other? This indicates to me the axle is not completely straight, now is that normal? The tech at Ford said he wouldn't worry about it as it isn't enough to really make the car dog walk or chew tires and he wonders if Ford designed it that way because the axle will flex under a hard launch and be straight then??? Let me here what you guys think.
That's what I thought, that there should be 0 toe, but the car has never been wrecked and you would think that it would take a really hard hit to bend an axle and you would obviously see the damage elsewhere, like suspension, and thedriver's side wouldn't still be inline right? But it is. That's why I was just wondering if maybe it came from the factory with an axle the wasn't straight or if none are really perfect.
The axle is supported onone end bythe outeraxle bearing.
The other end of the axle goes into the differential. Any bending
of the axle housing causing toe is also causing misalignment of the
splines into the differential assembly possably causing damage
in the nearfuture. Someone is either messing with you to get $$
out of you or your rear end is not right.

Well the car has 3,000 miles on it and it is a Ford dealership that is telling me this and right now it's all been done under warranty, but they are trying to tell me that I had to have hit something with the car and that I bent it (nope) and it has all four factory wheels on it that are not bent and they are trying to convince me that I hit something hard enough to bend the axle or something but not the bend a wheel nor feel the impact. They also said they haven't seen many new Stangs on the rack either so another reason why I was wondering if it is normal and they didn't know it either.
