Default Clearcoat on the windshield

I picked up my car from the body shop on Friday afternoon and immediately left with it for a 2 hr road trip weekend away.

New Door: check
Hood scoop painted/installed: check
Clearcoat on the windshield: $hit

It looks like it wasn't masked well and they got 1 pass of some clearcoat on 1/2 of my windshield (passenger side). Anybody have any good ideas on how to get it off? I've tried water, windex, invisible glass, isopropol alcohol and turpentine all to no avail. I don't mind using my elbow grease and getting it off myself if it's possible...I'd rather do that then lose my car for another day or two to get a new windshield IF its possible to remove it.

Otherwise the body work and paint blending looks good on the car. The crap on the windshield is the only thing I'm unhappy with. She definitely needs to be clayed as soon as my 90 days wait time is up...she's not smooth to the touch anymore [&o]

I had to use a single edge razor blade to get it off my Ranger when it was repaired.

I wouldn't touch it at all, I'd take it straight back to the bodyshop and let them fix it

I don't know about the razor blade, new glass is so soft, too easy to scratch with a steel blade IMO. I would use soft cloth only dampened in lacquer thinner (not dripping wet and keep lacquer thinner far away from your car. CC should easily wipe away. Then suds off well and I'd recommend RainX treatement.

I have used LT on glass before w/o any issues.

Exactly. You might end up doing more harm than good trying to scrape it off or using chemicals. They f'ed it up, let them fix it.
