Default 3.73?

I was thinking of putting a Ford Racing set of 3.73s on my 05 GT...anybody have any thoughts on this... I thought it would be a nice happy medium...and where is a good place to get them...I saw them on Jegs for $171.00...Also planning a SCT Tune with CAI from Brenspeed, right now Its stock besides Flowmaster Axle Backs and hurst shifter....

Honestly I would go with 4.10's. It's not that much of a difference for fuel economy and it'll pick up so much better.

Also I like ordering from Americanmuscle mainly because there is no shipping cost and they are cheap. That and I have never had a problem with them.

Since its an 05 it should have 3.55 gears. I would recommend the 4.10s.

motive, who apparently makes the frpp gears, makes some 3.90's. i am in the midle of buying a set of them right now. to me the 3.90's sound like the happy medium.

Thanks for the info... I was a little worried about going the 4.10 route because my car gets driven daily...but the 3.90s sound pretty sweet

I have 4.11's, and it is sooooo much better than 4.10's. Anyone who has 4.10's instead of 4.11's is a loser!

I have the 4.10s and highly recommend (assuming you are 5spd). I guess it may depend on what you use the car for but I don't see any downside to them. If 90% of your driving was on the highway then maybe go with a looser ratio but otherwise...they kick butt around town and on the twistys. The combination of 4.10s and a CAI with good tune make it pretty special. I can spin thetires at will in 1st, not just from a start, and that's with some pretty sticky rubber on the back. Are you going to do the install yourself? If not...the total will cost you between 500-600 depending on shop who does them. That includes FRPP gears, install kit, labor and fluids. Brenspeed will do you right on the CAI and tune.

The way things are going right now , I would think, , going to 3.73 Gears, , would be agood choice , as compared to say 4.10 , or 4.30 Gears. But that's just my opinion .
