Default Power Steering Whine?!

Okay, I never noticed it, but today I heared this slight whine when I was in the garage turning the wheels a little... At first I thought it was the wheels on the surface, but after pulling out of the garage I heared it again. Could this indicate there is something wrong? Or is this just normal?

The car is about to get an oil change at the dealer within 500 miles, so I am planning to bring it up when I take her in. It's a 2005, so she still has warranty. Anyone else with the same problem?

Okay, but it is just something I didn't notice before. And that usually means it wasn't there at first...

Oh well, I'll tell them anyway when I drop her off at the dealer.

I noticed the same thing this weekend... Never heard it before. Maybe it is the colder weather....

I noticed it to, it sounds like something is rubbing maybe? lol i though it was the wheels too making the sound at first. Its a brand new 2007 so I hope nothings wrong. Please let us know what the dealer says.

For what it is worth, the dealership said to me that the noise is normal! The noise i hear is more of a squeeking noise not a whine! They told me it was bushings rubbing which is normal! I dont hear mine unless i have the radio off and at idle and i just barely turn the wheel side to side!

Just check the power steering fluid level. If it is low, it would whine.

Yep, it does sound more like a rubbing than a whine actually...

Idle and Radio off, true that... Guess it's okay. I just never noticed... I'll let them take a look at the fluid level when I take it in in a future weekend...
