the C6Z06 has 18's

ok with 18's or 19's at the very biggest. whatever the Z06 has. most other high power exotics are supporting 19"

but 18's still have an advantage over 19's from a physics stand point
less rotating mass
and lower moment of inertia even if the rims were to weigh the same

Lets be realistic you'll never going to beat a Z06 Vette in a streetable Mustang.
The 05+Mustang cant reachtheZ06'stop speed, nor does ithave the areodynamics, supension, or extentsive Gran Prix feedback to compete with this supercar.
OurMustangs are limited that just the way it is.
Problem our cars theycant get traction+ soild rear axel..
More power doesn't mean better if you can cant hold it down.
You can dump ton of cash to find outor just accept it.
We have nice cars (I love mine)but they will never becomparable tothe ZO6 Vette known as awell enginnered low budgetsupercar around the world over.

Yeah, I have to agree...When the Z06 is comparable to a Viper (and let's face it, the GT500 is the only thing that's even CLOSE to being in those classes) and R&T is saying that the Z06 is walking away from the Viper because it handles better, well...The Z06 is a hot car. Most Mustangs just can't compete with it, at least not on a street level.
And most guys who own the Z06's that are being made now are saying that they really can't be driven on the street (or driven to their full potential on the street, at any rate)...But heck, I'd still want one...

Current record for a stock C6 Z06 on stock rubber is 11.19 (Ranger).
They make around 460 rwhp and are300 lb lighter than a stock GT.
They have stickier factory tires and better weight distribution
You would have to make 505+ rwhp at stock weight and need stickier tires and some chassis work.
This would likely require forced induction, drag radials, and some rear suspension work.
I would shoot for about 550 rwhp due to the weight added by the forced induction.
Cheapest option would likely be a THP Single Turbo at 10 psi.
BTW I would pick up a couple of spare 4.6L 3V from totals.
At 550 rwhp engine failure is not a matter of if but when.

no 2000 was C5
C5 norm 350hp LS1
C5 Z06 400hp LS6
C6 Norm 400hp LS2
C6 Z06 500Hp LS7

is that the same engine in the 2000 vette?? a buddy of mine at work has a 2000 black one with full exhaust and a 6 speed manual and he only beats me by 1/2-3/4 of a car every time. if i had drag radials i could probably walk him pretty good because 1st and 2nd are pretty much traction-less on the streets here in sin city.

I had a 3LT 2006 C6 ( ya know the 400 HP version) and it was FAST!!!! But I have more Fun in the GT than I did in the Vette. Plus it will go in and out of my driveway much better.

My dad and I kind of fool around on the streets when we come back from dealerships. His C6 Z06 is insane. I love that car so goddamn much.
Anyways, mine gets in the driveway easier though
