Default 4 Shorty questions

(I can't get longtubes. I dont want to lose access to the tranny/clutch, and I don't want to run without cats, and the cost of longtubes with cats isn't worth it to me)

1. Are shorties lighter weight than the stock headers?

2. I like the sound of my stock exhaust and Loudmouths. How will unequal or equals affect the sound? Louder, deeper, higher, quieter?

3. Ceramic is good, right? Or will the insides overheat?

4. Can unequals get back some torque lost when installing loudmouths?

I had ford racing shorties. Did not really notice that much of a difference, however they are a bit lighter.

I have a set of BBK/Ford shorties.Yes they are lighter and ceramic is good.I can't help with your questions about loudmouths, since I am not using them.Ceramic helps with getting heat out of the engine bay compared to non ceramic headers , and it helps keep chrome headers from turning blue from the heat.

1. Are shorties lighter weight than the stock headers?

A: YES

2. I like the sound of my stock exhaust and Loudmouths. How will unequal or equals affect the sound? Louder, deeper, higher, quieter?

A: Will make them slightly louder probably not enough to notice.

3. Ceramic is good, right? Or will the insides overheat?

A:Ceramic is good as an insulator to help with exhaust scavenging and it also helps to protect the headers from corrosion

4. Can unequals get back some torque lost when installing loudmouths?

A: You actually gain more Torque with Shorties than HP. Up to 20Ft.Lbs.

Does anyone know if unequals cause more loudness or quietness and more power or less power than stock or aftermarket equals?

I know im being annoying but I want to get it right the first time...
