Default Fail Safe Mode

I was drive home the other night, 11:00pm, when Fail Safe Mode came on for the second time since I’ve owned the car(June 2007). I was sitting at a stop light to make a left turn. When the light turned green the car wasn’t going. I turn off the car and restart it without a problem and the message is gone. The first time this happened to me it was back in July and the car was still stock. I was driving down a country road with my cruise control set a 70, when I hit the break to slow down at a up coming light. After the first time, I call the dealership, they said they can do anything because I cleared the code when I restarted the car to get home. I didn’t call them this time. Should I go in and have they look at it just so they have recode of my issue? Any ideas on what is could cause this? This is the only think that worries me about this car.

I feel your pain buddy! I've had this happen to my 05' as well quite a few times now... Lukily Ive been able to do the same (restart the car) and drive away scott free. I'd like to tell myself theres just a sensor thats a little too touchy and that theres nothing wrong... Unfortunatly I cant really offer you any other input, but I wanted to let you know that your not alone in this issue![X(]

I had this issue if you have a programmer get the codes and I might be able to help out. Seems like there are on occasion bad throttle bodies for this car.
Failsafe mode is the best!!!!!!!

Mine went to fail safe a few times and the dealership replaced the throttle body sensor. Hasn't done it since.

I will try to get the code using my programmer next time, but the check engine light never came on. I wish it had so I can take it to the dealerand have it fixed.

+1
There is TSB on the throttle positioning sensor. My car did the same thing and the whole TB was replaced under warrenty, problem fixed. If you are able to pull the codes they will more than likely reffer to the TB.

It sounds like I get the same problem as the people above me, I get a failsafe mode and the code refers to the throttle body sensor, but the only time I get this code is immediately after I install a tune using my Diablosport tuner. Once I pull out the key and put it back in it goes away, and I can't get the dealer to do anything about this because it only comes up when I'm using my tuner.

Anybody have any ideas?

You could buy the TP sensor and put it in yourself, it cost around $75.00. I also heard that cleaning your TB may help.
