Just remember, when you rush buying a car, you're cutting yourself short somewhere.
Good luck, none the less.

If the $100 over invoice is BEFORE rebates are applied, it's a great price. If that's the car you want, I'd go for it. When I used to sell for Lone Star Ford on eBay, we used to ***** out Mustang GT's all the time below invoice, so $100 over is not unrealistic, and still a great deal especially for an ordered unit.

Yeah its before any rebates. The guy is a drinking buddy of mine and I'm pretty sure he wouldn't screw me. Just trying to see if there was anything I was missing if I went ahead and ordered it. But as I said, the price is good for a few more months, so I'll sit it out and see how it plays.

What's to sit out? 08 rebates aren't going to change much in the next few months, if at all, and invoice can only go up (it usually creeps up throughout the year by a couple hundred). Wait it out to see if you can get a hundred or two more off the price? Big deal, you probably blow a hundred bucks a month on stuff you can't even remember buying. Just do it.

I have to get rid of my 07 first before I can place an order. I'm hesitant to trade it in because I'd be upside down considering I've only owned it for about a month, but I can probably sell it privately and break even, I'm also hesitant to break out the savings to get into it just because it's convertible. I may just throw the 07 on Autotrader.. and see how much I get back out of tax return in Feb., thats always freemoney. There's just a lot of variables and issues to consider. I'll probably get it, but it might be Feb-March before I do, like I said the offer is good for a few months.

I wouldwait the all new Stang Gt in July of 2008..............................
Its a 2009 and will look a tad different.....
Thats what I am waiting for.
I will also look at the camaro and chellenger in the next few months...............
But you should have to pay NOOOOOO more then $100 over invoice....
I know I paid Invoice on my 2006 Stang GT NEW....
There are many Stang Gts on lots and there are noooooo reason to order one....
Wait till GM and Mopar put out their newest cars and you will get a better deal...
Unless the money is burning in your pockets....JT

Given that info, I'd wait until 2009. I doubt you can break even - you may get enough to pay off whatever's left on your loan, but I'm guessing you put money down to get the loan amount low enough to be at actual resale value (around $20k ish). So any money you applied between the drive out cost and the current loan amount is gone - that's a lot of green to waste for one month's worth of ownership, but hey, it's your money.

Don't pay more than the x-plan price shown on the invoice.Anybody can buy a car on x-plan if they can find someone to give them an x-plan pin. X-plan pins are given to employees of ford and companies that work with ford. They are given to those employees to be shared. The quote I saw was something like "if every ford employee helped a friend buy a car every year that would 300,000 cars" or something like that. There are a lot of places online where you can request x-plan pins. Head over to blueovalforums to start.

Also, remember the dealer gets a "Holdback". I got my 2008 premium GT Convertible (which was special ordered) for less than invoice. Counting holdback and rebates....dealer made $400.00. Think I got a GREAT deal!!!
