This is a Ford Mustang GT. It has 300 BHP.



This is a Shelby GT500 Super Snake. It has more than double the GT's horsepower.


There is nothing upbadged GT about that.

 

Brian thanks for the picture post, I love those 2 models. The red one was part of my inspiration.

All S197 mustangs are upbadged to what ever final stang they become from the factory. All GT500's and GT's come off the same line (the body). I know I was at the Flat Rock, MIplant and watched them being built. The SS is no different except you send it to Shelby (after you buy a GT500) and pay 16,000-25,000 dollars in upgrades and you have a real SS. If you have the money any company will take it and do it to any stang. IMO no one will be offended (ex. Carroll Shelby, Steve Saleen, and Jack Roush) if paying for the "upgrades" -badging included.
