Doesn't have any badges either.
I don't have a problem with it I just think its a dumb idea. GT sounds better than Super Snake to me. If there are a couple cars here and there thats cool, but if everyone starts doing it over time. Then yea I think its dumb.

All S197 mustangs are upbadged to what ever final stang they become from the factory. All GT500's and GT's come off the same line (the body). I know I was at the Flat Rock, MIplant and watched them being built. The SS is no different except you send it to Shelby (after you buy a GT500) and pay 16,000-25,000 dollars in upgrades and you have a real SS. If you have the money any company will take it and do it to any stang. IMO no one will be offended (ex. Carroll Shelby, Steve Saleen, and Jack Roush) if paying for the "upgrades" -badging included.

RE: Super Snake Pose
First of all, that isn't the point. I am arguing that just because models share a similar lineage does not mean they are just upbadged versions of one another. A Shelby GT, for instance, is an upbadged GT. Not a GT500.
And to answer your question, no, because that doesn't make it a GT. It makes it an engine swap, and therefore in my mind while somewhat equivalent to a GT, not the same, maybe you could call it a tribute car. But if you wanted to get technical, then it would still have a different front fascia, spoiler, exhaust, brakes, tranny, etc. etc.
