Acorns = squirrels. They will cuddle up under your hood.....and they will eat your wiring!
My husband had squirrel issues with his pickup that he leaves parked in the driveway. One day he went out to find all kinds of acorn shells in the engine compartment. Also found the chewed up wiring.
Check your wiring!!!

 

Yup. I work at a Dealership and we see this from time to time. Not a big deal until they start to eat the harnesses or cuddle up into the blower motor an die. PEEYOUUU!!! LOL

 

In the northeast it's all mice doing this. Inside the garage as well as out.

But seriously, your friend might want to put a few boxes of moth ***** under his car or hood. That might keep the rodents away.
