Gotta dollar that says you loaded Brent's 93 tune. He's not going to sell a tuner with someone else's tunes in it. I never got a CD, but the SCT with all three tunes loaded. After that, I had him email them to me so I'd have them on my computer. You would have been throwing crazy CELs if you didn't have the proper tune with the CAI.
Like I said I was just reading that link the other day and noticed it was talking about downloading the tunes from the disc onto the computer, then loading the tunes from the computer to the handheld tuner. All I did with mine was install the intake, plug the tuner under the dash, switch the octane to 93 and that was it.

Same thing I did. Brent may have started putting the tunes on a CD to save time with requests for emailing the tunes later. Dunno... But the tuner would not have come with any other tunes than Brent's.

I know what your saying, but if you would browse over that link you would see what I'm talking about. It has it so you can load one of the tunes for performance, or for torque or horsepower. And you can change it to 91, 93 or whatever octane. I just dont know why I would have a disc, and in that link the disc was used and I never used it. I just wanna be sure I'm getting the full potential out of the intake and tune. I seen where you could mess with the spark and idle rpms, and rev limiter, but I didnt mess with any of that.

I just looked at the link. Bill wrote that as general directions for someone that either got tunes emailed to them or received them on a CD. His tunes are from Bamachips and I do not know if Doug just puts the tunes on a CD and lets the customer load them onto the tuner, I doubt it. In most cases, the tunes will come already loaded in the tuner, just like yours. Now, if you later wish to either have Brenspeed adjust the tunes or you buy another tune from someone else, they'll email them to you and the directions on the link apply. In our case, Brent preloads the tunes and all we have to do is upload them to the car. You may want to email Brent to ease you mind on this, but I'm sure all is well.

Thats what I'm saying. With that CAI you would be having problems without the proper tune. There are CAI's out there that don't require a tune. However, I don't think the C&L is one of them. I know mine wasn't. Call Brent and see if the tunes were already loaded on the tuner for you. Everyone that I know that has done the combo from him has had the tune on the tuner when it showed up.

If the tunes were already loaded onto the handheld tuner, then what was the disc for? And if they were, does that mean all I had to do was plug it under the dash and choose what octane I want and thats it? And if I wanted to change anything else I could have?

This should answer any questions about if the tunes are already loaded into the SCT. Read the circled part. I was worried that I may not be running the right tune, so I pulled my box out and found this in it. Hope this helps!

The CD could have been the Liveload software from SCT. That's the software Bill shows in his thread. I downloaded the software from SCTs site. And yes, all you had to do was plug it in and load the tune along with changing whatever parameters you feel comfortable with changing. Of course also ensuring you have the right gas in the car. Remember, you can run the 87/91 tune with 93 octane, but don't run the 93/91 tune with lower octane gas.

I believe the disk is there as backup should you have a problem with the tuner. I believe Scramblr had it right. I imagine brent got so many requests for copies of the tunes to be E-mailed he just started shipping a disk along with the combo.

Brents tunes are already loaded on your XCAL. If you were not running the tune, and you have a C&L intake, you would be throwing codes left and right....

If you are still in doubt, go plug in your tuner. Go to custom tune. Page up and down and you will see the three tunes you specified you wanted when you bought the tuner.....
