You would still be better off getting a takeoff. There are some how to threads around that walk you through the install process. Its not a complicated job and should only take a few hours at the most. That will save you around $245 to use for other mods.

 

where can u get a gt500 rear though? other than ebay. will our local ford dealers have them?

 

The GT500 is the same as the GT/CS. Yes you can order them through the dealers, don't ask me how much though. From what I understand the GT/CS is cheaper, even though its the same as the GT500, probably because its a less expensive car.

Yes California Special. I believe the GT/CS bumper is a few hundrer dollars cheaper, even though its the same bumper looks wise. I guess the two bumpers are just stamped with different part numbers so they can rape those big money GT500 buyers even more.

All use the same rear bumper cover... Same piece of plastic.
The GT500 is painted black all the way around at the bottom (the only difference).

shelby gt doesnt use that bumper, its uses the stock gt rear bumper


I had a gt takeoff kit on order, then i bailed out and got the gt500 rear, because I figured that If I payed for the gt stuff (450) and it came and was scratched I would have had to have it repainted anyway. So I ditched the idea of a front bumper, bought a 100dollar grille to dtich the v6 look, and then got the gt500 rear, which was the best thing I have done

 

You got it all wrong man...
Go to the dealer and look at a Shelby GT closer[&:].

 

gt/cs, shelby gt,and gt500 all have the same rearbumpers. i'd get the cobra front bumper also justto finish off the gt500 look, and some new wheels.....and a lowering kit.....possibly the spoiler and hood...then a s/c....then nos
