I have the 3D Carbon side scoops. Not the quarter windows. I use adhesive promoter whenever installing anything with 3M Tape. I think it is mainly a prep and install problem.

I've had the Cervinis scoops up and down the track many times without issue. The surfaces must be prepped properly, and 3M quality tape must be used. This was a prep issue, not Cervini's issue.

I'm glad you don't know what you're talking about since the scoops didn't sit flush. It was 3m tape as provided by Cervini's and the paint was prepped correctly. Please don't act like you know what you're talking about because one of your scoops didn't fly off due to poor fitment. For your information I called them about this and they said it was normal which was BS.

The ones that don't fly off your car... Cervini's COUGH, COUGH...
HAHA Yah my cervinis side scoops flew off too dont buy CERVINIS SIDE SCOOPS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I call these ****'s and they tell me they won't sell me another side scoop by itself. They had the nerve to ask me to pay full price for another set of them. Their customer service was terrible and the scoops didn't even sit flush on the car...

Not to mention the billet grille I used to have that was PEELING... Talk about quality!

-Jeff
Dude I called them too and tried to order another single scoop just like you and they said "You have to buy a whole new set we cant split a set up." AND I WAS WILLING TO PAY FOR THE SINGLE ... ****ers I am gonna make a cervinis bashing thread you should join in lol
I'm down... I ****ing hate their company... Talk about quality service... Hey MR... Since our side scoop flew off, why don't you buy yourself two more in case the other one flies off?

Ok, I have a lot to say on this issue since I have ordered and installed a few Cervini's parts myself

- I don't like Cervini's parts.

Even when it's done as they suggest, the urethane used to make their parts soaks up paint like a sponge, which means
they have to be primed and painted several times to get out all the pocks and dimples.

They don't fit perfect. I had to do a LOT of sanding and cutting on the window scoops to get them to fit right. When I got
them, they rocked like a flat board sitting on a curved surface.

When it comes to customer service, they seemed somewhat cheap to me as well. I ordered side-scoops from Xenon. So
I called Cervini's to ask if I could purchase some more of the steel mesh they use in the window scoops, to put into my
Xenon scoops, so they would match. The guy said they couldn't do that, and even when I suggested I would pay more for
steel mesh than is appropriate, they still said no.

- That being said, you can't beat the look of Cervini's parts. But IMO 3D Carbon, or CDC would be a better bet.

- In terms of the fly-off, I'm not positive but I'm leaning towards those that say application is key.

What made a HUGE difference is, to let the tape apply to the part itself for 24 hours, before peeling off the tape-backing to
apply it to the car. The 1st time I put on my Cervini's Window scoops I skipped that 1st step and they fell right off.

OK first off J even though I said I was planning on making a "cervini's bashing thread" I didnt. I made a post that is consumer awareness that anyone is avaliable to post in. Second if your refering to this post... my last post was "lets get this post on track" and said NOTHING else about the subject previously discussed. Actually I just checked and nothing about the cervinis' product was said in a negative way after that so you were just opening up a freshly healed wound in saying that since all involved parties had stopped... thats not too cool just to play all big and tough.

Last the product issue was that it wouldnt hold paint and didnt fit correctly so its not a 3m issue as I PMed you that we took measures PAST what Cervini's had said. We gave it 36 hours of cure time and used a 3m adhesion promoter as some other members said. Both of which were extra measures... which I also did with the side scoops that are both installed and working after being at 140+ several times and being washed several times.

I am done with the topic though and wont be checking this forum or anymore PMs on the subject. I am accepting the loss and letting other people know that a product for S197s (section name) was not up to snuff and that buyer-beware.

Not bashing cervinis just relating a negative issue that I have had with them, just like I related a possitve experience I had with another company in a different post earlier today.

Honestly, James, I don't think you need to Apologize. If a company did something lame, which Cervini's has done to a few Members then this is an open forum to discuss these problems. If the company is a good one then threads saying, "O I love Cervinis parts!" should balance things out.

Thanks bud (James)! and I thank you for that too!!!!! I just want to make sure it doesn't cause any internet fights online about something that should be dealt with by said company. By all means state your opinions and write what you want about Cervinis...its unfortunate that it isn't fitting and working for you guys butI was just making sure nothing got out of hand regardless of what company it is. I am not a Cervinis sales rep or defending them just merely giving my take on this subject and following up on the PM's you two sent. I am not acting "all big and bad" and I do know it is just the internet and people (not saying you guys) get bold and brazen and write what they dare not say to someone face to face. Later J

No apologies expressed or implied are needed andI agree 100% with ThaiCobra. I am not saying you cannot express your opinions. I amonly expressing that if it becomes an internet fight like I have seen other threads become I will do my job and put a stop to it. Just did not want it to go in the wrong direction thats all.

thanks. and I agree, a flaming opinion based bashing thread doesn't really help MustangForums increase buyer knowledge.

love your car btw. those chrome ghost blings look sahweeeet.

You think chrome is too much? or were you happy with your decision? I'm debating between polished steel wheels and chrome.
