Default TCS

Quick question. I have never seen this light on in my instrument panel. In my Impala the TCS light would come on when I started to spin, but not once has it ever appeared on my dash. Just wondering. I was looking at navyscotts pic and noticed the light on and the TCS off lite on as well.

I've had the car since 08/06. Yeah when I hit corners I make her fishtail everynow and then. I never look down to see if the TCS lights up but if you notice on his picture the light is on and his vehicle appears to be stationary.
P.S
I turn TCS off as soon as I start my car.

I turn TCS off.. I'd rather control my own car.

Anyways, here is how it works for my car. When TCS is off, it lights up 'OFF". When it is on, it does not light up at all, even when I spin.

The pic you posted shows the guy has TCS turned off, which is why its lit up, including the vertical OFF part.

when your trac control is active (wheels are spinning pretty good on a wet day) look down at the messege center and it will say "trac control active" or something like that....it doesnt come on if you spin just a little...you have to really get on it

My TCS cuts on WAY too easily. Nothing like getting on your car to feel it fall flat on it's face. I prefer it off, too.

okay so if I leave my traction control on and I start to spin it will appear? If so how could the guy in the pic get the light in the cluster to show whenhis car was parked?
