Johnny, sorry to hear about the problem you're having.

No problems with our Mustang's top so far. We've had our Mustang for almost a year.

Good luck. I hope your problem is resolved soon.

Are you letting your grandkids open & close it, maybe someone is holding the button too long & stressing frame. I stop mine just as it reaches the pins then pull down by the center handle to latch it. Also watch real close when I open & stop when it gets near the rear headrests. It seems to finish going down a little by itself. When I bought my car one of the pistons was blown out & leaking (brand new). The service manager thought someone test driving probably tried to open without releasing the latches first. Have not had a problem since.

ORIGINAL: proreps2007

I want to ask a global question re my 2006 Mustang GT Convertible - I have had 2 tops collapse (bracket issues) and replaced by Ford. Apparently poorly designed frame/brackets from what the installer (not Ford) told me ... perhaps too thin/weak for the load).

I want to see if anyone else has experienced issues with their tops for that year (or even any year from2005-2008). Please give any feedback that you can ... this has developed into a huge problem. The last time it collapsed my 2 small grandkids were in the back seat, and now will not even ride in the car

My GT has been in the shop for the top(s) issue for 27 out of past 40 days. HELP!!

Hmmm, for that much time in the shop I would be watching closely, damn near Lemon Law time. Good luck!
