Default 2006 GT CONVERTIBLE - 2 TOPS REPLACED - HUGE ISSUE

I want to ask a global question re my 2006 Mustang GT Convertible - I have had 2 tops collapse (bracket issues) and replaced by Ford. Apparently poorly designed frame/brackets from what the installer (not Ford) told me ... perhaps too thin/weak for the load).

I want to see if anyone else has experienced issues with their tops for that year (or even any year from2005-2008). Please give any feedback that you can ... this has developed into a huge problem. The last time it collapsed my 2 small grandkids were in the back seat, and now will not even ride in the car

My GT has been in the shop for the top(s) issue for 27 out of past 40 days. HELP!!

Johnny

No problems like that with my 2006 vert. Only 3500 miles but bought new a year ago and daily driver. Top up/down about 3 times per week.

Ant special circumstances or details in your case? - ammount of usage, when problems developed, etc.

I'm sorry for your troubles.
I have 40k on my 05 GT and haven't had any issues.

I rented an '06 V6 vert last year and it had a few quarter inch holes in the area of the top rear corners on both sides. I think there was a recall regarding that problem. My GT has only 300 miles on the clock and the top has never been down yet and probably won't be till May. I hope you canget the problems resolved.

No issues here. DD with around 5K miles on it. And the top was put up/down quite a bit through the summer and fall.

no issues with my top - bought the car in April 2006, and the top goes down every chance I get (not today though, 18 degrees and snowing!). Usuallyfrom mid-April to October the top is down unless it is raining - and I drive it daily.

No problems here either and i only drive it ondays I can put the top down. I wonder if your car's body/frame isn't true, thus putting unusual force on the top as it goes up and down. Ever try to open a door or a cabinet if the hinges aren't perfectly aligned, and it binds? This is what I'm talking about.
