In my household, the kids ride in the van. No kids allowed in the Stang. Problem solved.

Well I think it's too late for the day after pill. Atleast you won't have to worry about kicks to the seats for awhile. I can't see ever putting a baby in my car. That's what my wifes car is for.

I use kick mats for the back of the seats:

These protect thebottom of the seatsin my daily drivers, though the mustang backseat is very deep so I can't guarantee they'll work:

If you go to babies r us when they're not real busy (ie; non weekends) they'll let you pull up and try fitting a couple carseats in the back. Rear facing will be a tight squeeze, once they get big enough for convertible seats and forward facing they'll fit better.

good ideas rpenna

I guess I can see how some won't let their kids in their cars, but I am the other way. I like my hobby and the kids do too. They get excited when I pick them up from a friends house in it. I don't drive it enough as it is and it is fun to share. What will your kids think if they know the car is off limits? They may feel that you are choosing between them or your car. No way I am going to foster that. I want them to enjoy it (just sans liquids) with me. I try to encourage their appreciation of it just as my dad did with his cars. (as a kid he took us out on sundays in his '36 ford convertable. it was always a something special.)

Let em stain them. Let me explain...
eBay OEM seatcover take offs.
I got a whole new take-off set for
$5 + S/H and when mine get too
dirty for me, its time to put the new
take offs on.

I agree with 157db.. do a search on ebay, and just go with oem replacements on the cheap.

Also - you may wanna consider getting that back window tinted, especially if you have people sitting in the back.

I tinted mine LIMO BLACK so my two dogs wouldn't sit in the sun, on long car trips.

My boys are 5 and 8 and they love to ride in the stang. I treat the seats with Zaino leather products and I haven't had any problems yet. Any marks from shoes just wipe away. I don't let them eat/drink in the car though...just me.
Not just you. My boys are 6 and 9 and we have the same no food or drink rules. I just keep the seatbacks and back part of the console wiped off because a few shoe marks are inevitable even with the 'keep your feet straight down in front of you and off the seatbacks" rule. My husband teases me because he says we can't ever take the 'stang on a long family weekend drive because the kids will dehydrate and starve to death under my rules.

Congrats on your baby on the way, OP!
