FRPP 400 HP SC
I have a 2007 GT, and I would like to have the 400 HP FRPP Whipple kit installed. This car is my daily driver.
I have done some research, including searching this forum, regarding factory / extended warranty coverage with this modification. So, I apologize in advance if I am covering information already discussed.
The dealer I purchased my GT from stated the following:
If you have the FRPP parts installed prior to the delivery of your car, than the 3yr / 36K applies to the stock parts as well as the FRPP parts, i.e., supercharger.
If you have the FRPP parts installed after you take delivery, than the 3 yr / 36K applies to the stock parts but a 1yr / 12K applies to the FRPP parts, i.e. supercharger.
However, Ford will not cover abuse. So, if you smoke a valve, and the computer registers a speed code. Then, you are out of luck. However, this clause applies to unmodified cars as well.
Further, I have a 75K extended Ford warranty, and the FRPP 400 hp SC will not void the extended warranty either. However, the parts must be FRPP and the install must be done by a Ford dealer.
Does anyone have information to support this dealer's claim? I realize that unless someone has actually had a warranty claim with FRPP mods than most comments are speculative.
Truth be told, I plan on having this modification done despite warranty issues. But, it would be nice to know as many facts as possible.

This has been covered in the forum yes, what your dealer is saying is accurate, but keep in mind that the 400hp sc is actually a very small number.
340hp can be acheived with full intake, exhaust UDP and a few other mods. 400+ can be acheived with bolt ons alone which will only run 2-4k. The point is that that SC will be running a very low amount of boost. The reason they make it 1 year while not installing it at delivery is I beleive because the engine will have to be broken in again.
To give you an idea of how low 400hp is, the Shelby v6 mustang that commes with a supercharger and warranty produces 390hp.
What you dealer told you is essentally a verbal contract either way. I think you would be better of with getting a used saleen, they run about 32k for one with 10k miles on it and make 500hp.

can you breakdown the 340hp mods that will retain his warranty for 2-4k please..
Obviously I can't break down the parts which will acheive any hp increase and maintain a warranty on those parts. However in all realism any mods under 400hp with a Mustang GT will very rarely break down before any warranty in America has long ran out.
Having a warranty isn't some magical litmus test which a consumer should worry about, the issue is more complicated than that. Ford would not offer this sort of plan unless they made a profit off of it. That alone is a testament that it might be resonable to consider acheving the OP's goals with N/A or even increasing them by adding a larger pulley and slightly more boost.
I don't think that's unresonable. Challaners run 462hp from the factory I beleive.

I don't like the work the dealer does anyway, so I don't care about warrenty. Why do you care so much installed properly there should be no problems. I doubt the dealer has someone on had all the time that knows what he should to be working on a blower like that.
