Default Window Squeak

Morning everyone!

I know that this is a common problem that can develop on all cars, but I'm not sure what the cause is and unfortunately, my car is suffering the ailments of it. Whenever I roll down my driver's side window, I get that horrible fingernail on chalkboard type screech. What exactly causes this and how do I fix it? It seems to have started when the weather began turning colder, but I don't know if that's part of the cause or just a coincidence. The windows are tinted if that makes a difference.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm tired of cringing every time I have to roll down the window to get in and out of the parking garage here at work. [:@]

Thanks!
Cheers!

Mine does this too sometimes. Ive never had the ambition to tear into it and find the cause though.

It only happens to me when it's raining and the windows are wet.

Take it to the dealer, they'll take care of it!

I may have to check that out. Thanks!

If that doesn't work, then I make just ask the dealer about it since it's under warranty, but I was hoping for a quickfix first.

I got the same problem which seems to appear when my window is partially down at over 90mph. I heard you can use the silicone spray for that, but not sure if it really works

Mine does the same thing when wet. Even if the door is open and I let the window up or down they sound horrible. Very embarassing for a brand new car to be doing this.[:@]

Please help - someone has to know a fix for this problem.

Thanks, skyflier1971
