How can my car sound like this????
Check out this clip, the 40 series flows for the pre 05 stangs sound amazing, I know the flowmasters don't sound like this on our stangs, but I'm looking to get an exhaust setup for christmas and I want the closest thing that sounds like this...

It Pype's mid muffler system is the closest thing to the 79-04 style exhaust Even it really doesn't sound quitelikethatmainly due to the fact it utilizes resonator style mufflers as opposed to a chambered muffler like the flow40s

it still won't sound like it, but the closest will be:
- MRT High-flow Catted H-Pipe or MAC Pro-Chamber with high flow cats
- 2 chamber 40 series Flowmasters welded in

The consensus seems to be that since ford moved the mufflers to the rear on 05+ it changed the exhaust note. Makes sense to me. The only mid muffler set up for our cars is made by pypes. There really isn't room for a chambered muffler due to the gas tank. I'm installing the pypes mid muffler system tomorrow. I can allready tell i'm going to have to have the tips welded on.

What do the pypes sound like?
Because in all honesty I've been listening to the some different setups like the loud mouth ones and they don't sound like a muscle car at all. Half of the reason I bought the GT was for the sound, and some of these setups don't do it justice.

I have a question. Why not put mufflers where the cats are located? I mean if you are removing the cats anyway with an offroad H or X pipe then why not put the mufflers there. Too close to the engine maybe?
I wonder if anyone has tried to design a thin/wide muffler for our cars. That way you could place them in the actual middle of the car just after the mid pipe and not worry so much about scraping them on everything.
