I just pulled the trigger on the black hurst sidewinder shift ball with just the hurst logo on top. I'm going to use the button for my line locks. The button I use for the line locks now is a toggle switch, so I will convert that to an "arming" switch and run the hurst switch in the middle of the hot line since it is a normally open switch. Should be a nice setup. I'll post pics when I'm done.
Just wondering what you intended to do with the wire? I had a Hurst **** with a button on my SN95, but couldn't figure out what to do with the wire to keep it out of the way and look nice.

I'm not having any problems with it being "soft and sticky" either. I did purchase a black ball just for the heck of it. Arrived the other day but I haven't had a chance to put it on. I got it from Pace Performance. It was on backorder, so I had to wait a bit, but it was the cheapest I could find. The Hurst part number that fits is #163 0125

Unfortunately, the wire will be visible from the top of the boot to the shifter ball, but I plan to run a thin bead of industrial adhesive on the front of the shifter arm and press the wire there. I'll be able to tell you how it holds up in a few months.

Got off my lazy **** and installed my black ball tonight. I like it. It's different. I'm keeping the white, just in case, though.

ORIGINAL: Caution

I use to have the white ball and mine was always white ... never had a problem with it... the black one looks way better anyway -- I'm sure in a week you'll be on here saying that your black **** is now white and sticky ... we'll all know what you're doing then [:-] [sm=icon_rofl.gif]

Well, he does have a nice set now, doesn't he?
