installing a hurst shifter
ok so i asked for a hurst shifter for x mas from the wifey. Question is how hard is the install, it doesnt look to bad but i am retarded sometimes and dont wanna mess things up. i wanted gears but i will wait until i get to the states so i dont have to pay in british pounds.
Any one have a guide with pictures by chance or know where to find something like it?

The instructions that come with it are spot on. Just make sure you use loctite where it says to use it, or you'll be back under the car in a couple of months retightening everything.

Only took me about 1.5hrs the first time, and less than an hour on the second car a few weeks later. Piece of cake. Biggest trouble is getting the new shifter through the hole. Put it straight down and rest it on the driveshaft and tranny, then get underneath and bolt it up. Don't worry about lining it up through the hole, just get the whole thing down there.

RE: installing a hurst shifter
Mine wouldn't fit at all and I got tired of fighting it. So I just took some pliers and rolled the metal away a little bit so I had more room. But by far the hardest part was getting it through the hole.
